Kindergarten

5 Year Olds

Where Lifelong Learners Begin.

The earliest years of a child's education are among the most formative and precious. At ACA, our kindergarten program is designed to give your child a meaningful head start—one that sets the tone for a lifetime of learning, growth, and purpose.

From the moment they walk through the door, your child is immersed in a vibrant, nurturing environment thoughtfully crafted for five-year-olds. You may just find yourself amazed at how much your little one absorbs in such a short time. Through engaging instruction, kindergarteners explore the building blocks of reading, writing, mathematics, and so much more! Under the gentle guidance of caring, dedicated teachers, these young learners are not simply gaining academic skills; they are laying a lasting foundation that will propel them toward the unique plan God has for their lives.

Curriculum

Traditional Phonics

Reading is the cornerstone of all learning, and ACA takes great pride in developing confident, capable readers. Through a traditional, intensive phonics approach, kindergarteners progress from recognizing letter sounds to reading words, sentences, and complete books. By the end of kindergarten, every student leaves with the ability to read independently—a milestone that sets the stage for a lifetime of academic success.

Cursive Writing

From the very beginning, students are introduced to the art of cursive writing—learning to form letters with smooth, flowing connections. This practice not only strengthens fine motor skills but also deepens each child's understanding of how letters and words work together beautifully on the page.

Cross-Subject Integration

Learning at ACA doesn't happen in isolation. Concepts introduced in one subject are intentionally woven into others, reinforcing knowledge and helping students understand the real-world relevance of what they are learning across every area of study.

Mathematics

Kindergarteners dive into the world of numbers with enthusiasm, learning to count and write numbers 1–100, and exploring addition, subtraction, problem solving, time, and measurement. They are even introduced to the foundational concepts of multiplication, geometry, and fractions—building a strong mathematical mindset from day one.

Life Skills

Beyond academics, kindergarteners enjoy a well-rounded experience that includes health and safety, arts and crafts, character development, community awareness, and an exploration of the world God has created. Motor skills and social skills are developed naturally throughout the day, and don't be surprised when your home is filled with the cheerful sound of your child reciting poems, songs, and Bible verses learned at school.
